PLX company began developing high-performance system input / output I/O interface chip from 1994. From the initial PCI bridge, the natural transition to PCIe (PCI, Express), USB, SATA, and ethernet bridging and switching. Chips are mainly used in communications, storage, servers, computers, embedded control and consumer electronics. PLX acquired Oxford semiconductor in Oxford in 2009 to enter the consumer storage market. PLX was acquired by AVAGO company in 2014.
